About Me

My wife and I

My wife and I

Once again welcome to my website. I have been interested in photography all my life but only since 1999 did I begin to have the time and resources to pursue it as a serious hobby. Buying your first camera often sets the path you go down with all the lenses and accessories you acquire. My whole set-up could as easily been Canon equipment, although I’m more interested in the content of an image rather than what brand was used to capture it. For me it all started with a Nikon F90X and then worked up to a Nikon F5 which was a fantastic camera. Then later in 2002 I moved into the field of digital photography. Firstly I purchased a D100 and in November 2003 traded in my F5 for a D2H, making me completely digital. The field of photography I most enjoy is nature and wildlife, stealing any spare minute to grab my equipment and hit the road in search of that special picture. I am based in West London and do most of my photography in the South East. I tend to photograph wildlife in this area due to the amount of time, and lack of free time, available to me for traveling (how I look forward to those long summer days).

When I first started out a large percentage of my photography was collated in zoos and wildlife parks which is a good way to practice and hone your skills. However I soon moved on to the challenge of tracking down and photographing wildlife in its natural habitat, which provides far more satisfaction. I am lucky to have a wife who is fully supportive and will accompany me on many of my trips without mentioning any of the DIY that could be done…!

I hope you will enjoy my website, and please come back and visit again.
